Wayne Caparas | Fitness Media Portfolio Highlights

In 1994, Wayne Co-published Vie Magazine for women, produced by Snyder Publications in a partnership with three regional fitness organizations.
Over a two-year span, Wayne published articles under three pen names, and helped several young innovators at LifeQuest achieve publication.
Wayne advised fitness icon Robert Kennedy in the conception of a new magazine targeting female strength and sports enthusiasts. In 1997 Oxygen was born.
As a contributing editor and research journalist, Wayne focused on anti-aging, sustainable lifestyle concepts, and other ultra-progressive fitness topics.
Wayne was first recognized as a fitness pioneer in 1992 for innovations in “Kid’s Fitness” facilities and programs for special needs children.
In 1993, Fitness Management and 20 experts awarded Wayne’s LifeQuest with two Nova7 awards for innovations to the fitness industry.

In 1994 and 1995, Fitness Management and their expert panel awarded LifeQuest with six additional Nova7 Awards for innovations to the industry.

 

In 1997, Club Industry Magazine recongnized LifeQuest among the top licensing names in the industry, putting the LifeQuest brand right up front.

 

The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce recognized LifeQuest’s community service, its impact on the city’s emerging popularity, and its business success on the national scale by honoring Wayne as their 1995 Small Business Man of the Year.

Inc. Magazine honored Wayne as a 1995 Entrepreneur of the Year regional finalist from South Carolina.

In 1995 the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Nation’s Business Magazine recognized Wayne as a Blue Chip Enterprise Designee.

USA Today and Earnst & Young honored brothers Wayne and Rally Caparas as 1996 EOY regional finalists from South Carolina.

 

In 1996 and 1997 ESPN and ESPN2 aired the LifeQuest Triple Crown fitness competition to their worldwide audience using the condensed format of their popular American Muscle series. The inaugural LifeQuest event was held in Historic Downtown Charleston, SC just hours after Hurricane Bertha brushed by a few miles offshore.

East Cooper Magazine, South Carolina’s top regional publication before the turn of the century, published a cover story on the historic inaugural event.
The popular bodybuilder magazine, Muscular Development and Health was sure to document the landmark inaugural event.
Robert Kennedy’s MuscleMag was a powerhouse before Bob’s untimely death. The magazine produced epic multi-page photo essays of the LifeQuest events.
Entrepreneur magazine celebrated LifeQuest’s prolific rise in their “Entrepreneurs Across America” cover story.
In one of the more colorful examples of Wayne’s reach, Japan’s Pocket Company published a 2-page story on Life Quest.
